St. Vincent de Paul

 St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP)

Vincent de Paul gave his energy and life to the needs of the poor in 17th-century France. Together with St. Louise de Marillac, he organized hospitals for those who were sick or in need, founded institutions for abandoned children, opened soup kitchens, created job training programs, taught young women to read, improved prison conditions, and organized countless local charities in the villages throughout France.

The Basilica SVdP Receives Catholic Charities Board of Directors Award!

Congratulation to The Basilica SVdP Ministries! On December 1, 2011, at their annual St. Nicholas Dinner and meeting, Catholic Charities honored us with the Board of Directors Award. Fr. John Bauer was present to receive the award, along with many Basilica St. Vincent de Paul volunteers and staff. View the award video on YouTube!

Lenten Coin Banks for SVdP at The Basilica

Support our St. Vincent de Paul Ministries through Almsgiving: pick up a coin bank in the back of church, take it home, and deposit your spare change. Bring the full coin bank on Holy Thursday. Every penny counts!

Society of St. Vincent de Paul

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul was founded in 1833 by six university students in Paris, led by Frederic Oznam. Today the Society includes almost 900,000 members spread among 46,000 conferences in 130 countries of five continents.

The Society's purpose is to provide direct aid to those who suffer, and help individuals reduce and even eliminate the causes of their suffering themselves. Society members use their own resources, sharing not only possessions but the gift of their presence.

The Basilica of Saint Mary St. Vincent de Paul Conference

The SVdP Conference at The Basilica of Saint Mary includes Pathways, Shoe Ministry, Outreach Ministry, Food Ministries and many other ways that we care for each other as a community. We strive to uphold the mission of the society, as well as The Basilica of Saint Mary's commitment to serve those who come to us in need. The Ministry depends on donations from parishioners and friends to support the services it provides. 100% of donations go directly to those we serve. To support SVdP and Food Ministry programs, use the blue and green monthly envelopes, or donate online.

Vision of The Basilica St. Vincent de Paul Ministries
