NEW BASILICA STRATEGIC PLAN 2013-2018

Since January, parish leaders and staff have embarked on a Strategic Planning process. We examined our progress over the past five years and shared our hopes and dreams for the future. The new Strategic Plan is a road map that will guide and direct our parish over the next five years.

Mission:

The Basilica of Saint Mary is a community rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

As disciples of Jesus Christ, we

·          -Practice Biblical Stewardship

·          -Share our faith with others in word and deed

·          -Pursue ecumenical and interfaith relationships

·          -Rejoice in rich diversity.

As the Co-Cathedral of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis we are committed to provide:

   -Inspiring liturgies and sacred arts

·         -Transforming life-long learning opportunities

-Engaging service to one another and justice for all.

How We Are Organized:

Liturgy
The way in which we express our faith and the way in which we are rehearsed in our faith; the celebration of discipleship and the effective rehearsal in discipleship.

Learning
The way in which all of us, young and old, learn about our Catholic faith through the study of Scripture and tradition; the ongoing clarification of the meaning of discipleship.

Life

The way in which Christians live out their faith, both within the community and in the broader world, through justice and care for one another; the day-to-day life of disciples of Jesus Christ.
